"Freelance"

“Freelance’’ can be defined as an adjective that express self employment
Or getting hired to work for different companies on particular
Assignments. Now days the challenges facing freelance journalism has never been more pronounced.  As publishing budgets are squeezed, publications are cutting the luxary that freelance have become. Freelancers across all genres accepting more work for less money; however in a world where the written word proliferates like never before, there will always exist a need for highly skilled writers and freelancers will forever be an essential part of the industry. From a freelancer’s perspective like Adrian Macleod, challenges that face the freelancers is that it’s always been difficult to get to the work, very difficult to get paid and they seem to spend a horibally small proportion of their time actually writing. It is no surprise that the National union of journalists has observed many people leaving the profession. So what does the modern freelancer need to do to create opportunities? The key is to be very good and put a lot of effort into it, also one of the most important thing is knowing people and having contacts. Freelancers now days should embrace new media. Some journalists use twitter among other tools to create a personal brand. This can be away to promote what they have written. And it is expected from a journalist to always be update with innovation comes opportunity, digital media may threaten some forms of print journalism but it also creates a whole new world wide web of opportunities for freelancers, thus freelancer must find a way to move with time and let nothing get in the way.
