"Bakar" returns in Ramadan
Bakar is an Egyptian cartoon series that we used to enjoy during our younger days. Even adults used to watch the show.
Amr Samir Atef, the script writer of the cartoon series "Bakar", and he stated that the show is about to resume this Ramadan after eight years since it stopped airing.
The idea behind "Bakar", In 1997, the late director Mona Abu El-Nasr told Amr Samir Atef that they want to establish an Egyptian cartoon film with Nubian characters, because in 1997 was labeled as "The year of Nubian child". The idea also focused on showing the Egypt's heritage, including pharaonic temples and museums, while a Nubian child is living a new adventure in every episode and how he deals with it all.
The name "Bakar" was chosen because the scriptwriter personally know a Nubian with that name. Also the soundtracks for "Bakar" were sung by the famous Nubian Mohamed Monir, and he sag them with his amazing Nubian accent. It was broadcasted in 1998 and eventually reached a total of 252 episodes throughout nine years.
Bakar today will be facing a lot of changes, especially since there has been a massive change in technology and on the political scene. Also the Egyptian Radio and Television union was the producer at that time and the cartoon was broadcast only an channel one of Egyptian TV.
So the new "Bakar" series will start with the same Nubian boy, going on more adventures but with a technological evolution. There will even be a scene where Bakar is using an ipad. The main focuses of the series will be morality and education, as well as implanting cultural interests in children as previous series have done.
And to know more about the duration of the new episodes in the upcoming series it will be 12 minutes instead of five. Also a major change in the show will be the 3D technology because it will help them in the movement of the characters.
